BIOGRAPHY

Johnell Roberts, DJ Special J, has always had a major love and passion for Hip Hop. When he was younger he would sing along with all the latest songs, as most children do,and was big into hip-hop dancing throughout high school. He even has a small talent and appreciation for graffiti.  It was when he met his long time friend Misfit Tone, Antonio Bennet, that he first had the chance to play on turntables.

Soon after high school, he joined the United States Army and was able to finally purchase his own. Taking inspiration from many different local DJs and watching videos of different DJ icons he quickly developed his own style. Peoples reaction to his mixes led him to believe that it was time to branch out and make him self known. He has spun records internationally from Korea to German and in various places in the United States, rocking crowds from small night clubs to large block parties.
